Are there any prepaid phone plans that the minutes don't expire?

I already have a mobile with at@t but am considering getting a backup to place in my glove compartment in case battery is dead in emergency. so is there any prepaid phone that you buy the minutes and they never expire?

No. There are minutes that last for up to a year but that’s on the $ 100 airtime cards. All minutes expire. That’s how they make money.

What company has the best prepaid cell phone and plans, I am looking for very small usage (minutes-possibly 2 hours a month), text messaging and possibly being able to download my ring tones.

I have had the normal cell phone plot but as soon as you change one thing on your plot they just keep extending the contract..No thank you.

Try MetroPCS. For $ 45 a month, I get unlimited everything. If I want to skip a month, I just don’t pay it, then when I’m ready, I pay the bill, and I’ve got my cell back nearly instantly. Best deal around. Everything else is going to cost you about 10 cents/minute, plus you have to pay for text messaging, and that all adds up really quick.

Page Plus which is really Verizon service resold, it can be as cheap as 2.50 per month, you just pay for your minutes which are between 12¢ and 5¢, there is a monthly fee of .50¢ The minutes never expire if you buy more at least each 4 months.

You can even use any Verizon phone that you may already have laying in a drawer somwhere, you can get started for about $ 8 and get 100 free minutes.

This is doubtless the cheapest and best prepaid right now because Verizon has such excellent coverage. They do not have data service right now but they are getting it next month, so you cant download ringtones yet but you can soon. I just got back from the mall and was looking for the same thing, alot of these seats are rip offs. I went to t mobile they had plans no contract, no credit check no cancellation fees. One was 29.99 with 300 minutes and free weekends or 39.99 for 600 minutes with free nights AND weekends. And I got a nice flip phone that had all the features. Certainly go there.
