Why have cell phone prices remained high, when all other consumer electronics continue to get cheaper?

They have gotten cheaper but only to the providers. They keep the prices high so you will take th offer of the 2 yr contract to get a phone for cheeper or free. This way if you will only be doing business with them for the next 2 yrs. And to keep you there for the 2 yrs an extremely high cancellation fee.

Because cell phones and now one of the most used electronic devices and are taking the features of a computer and music player and camera, ext. So it can be used for a lot of different things and they are getting better and better.

Is there a difference in the Cell Phone at Walmart and At&t. I want the Blackberry Bold and at AT&T with a 2-year upgrade it cost 199.99 and at Walmart it is like $ 78.99.? Do walmart phones have less on them?
Do you know if you have to like pay for insurance or whatever and how much that cost and how much the activation fee is at walmart?

no the walmart phone are the same as AT&T it’s just that walmart has it with a lower price same phone same everything

No they are all the same its just walmart offers them at a discounted price everywhere att offers rebates you wait on keep in mind if you buy from walmart you have 15 days to return the phone and if something goes incorrect with it after that you have to contact the manufacturer everywhere if you buy it at att they take care of you in store

The phones are the same. Cell phones are nearly always less expensive at the authorized retailers than at the carriers’ stores. Insurance is optional. Activation is the same everywhere. I believe it’s $ 18 for an upgrade and will be on the first bill after you upgrade.
