Cell phone etiquette - dating?
I have been dating a guy for 2 months and I’m noticing that his habits with his cell phone are really terrible. I think that your cell phone should be turned off/silent during a date, and only answered in emergencies. Am I crazy? Would you do this?
We were out to dinner and he actually made 2 phone calls while we were waiting for our food. He returned a call to his office, and then called his brother (who he lives with) to tell him a joke. He did not get up and leave the table…just sat right there talking on his phone in the restaurant!
After dinner, we get into his car to go to Starbucks (he had to go back to work) …he calls his friend at work (who he JUST talked to during my dinner) to see if she wants anything from starbucks. He proceeds to talk on the phone, joking and totally flirting, during the entire trip to starbucks.
Last Straw: We were in bed, just finished having SEX, and we hear his phone ring from the other room…he actually got up to ANSWER IT!
You have all given me such wonderful answers…THANK YOU!
I wanted to make sure I’m not crazy for no longer wanting to date someone over something that seems so stupid, but I think this behavior is a deal breaker. If he was great in every other way, I would probably overlook this…but he’s not.
Again, thanks for the good advice
Thanks again

That’s terrible etiquette…borderline no etiquette at all! Have you talked to him about it? Depending on how long you’ve been dating and how you feel about him, you might either want to discuss how much this bothers you or just cut him loose. This behavior is downright disrespectful, especially since you brought up the fact that he was flirting with a work friend in front of you. NOT acceptable.

luckily its only been 2 months…. but this sure is a glimpse into any future with this guy….I noticed a couple in a restaurant that were married…. the whole time they were there the guy was talking on the cell phone.. with a break of only a few minutes in between calls …. I never even saw him speak to his wife!… I felt so bad for her…. you might want to think about if you really want to continue on .. personally I would get out NOW! lol….. good luck!

What in your opinion is the best Sprint Cell Phone to date?
I’m trying to choose one since I’m able to get a new phone in February and the ones I’m looking at are:
Samsung Rant
Samsung Highnote
Samsung Instinct
I want to be able to text easily with my new phone.
Also, I’m not interested in any PDAs like the blackberry or palm centro.
Thanks!

Hi! I have been researching phones for a while! Out of the phones that you are interested in I would go with the Rant! I actually had the Rant and traded it back only because I wanted to save money! Now I am kicking my self. The call quality was incredible and the full querty keyboard was great for texting and let’s face it is a cool looking phone. Also it is very durable! I had it for about 3 weeks and I am a bit clumsy, but there was absolutely no scratches or any problems with this phone. The phone I traded for is a flip phone that only goes in my pocket and the front is all scratched up. Anyway if I were you I would research by going to Cnet reviews and others and look at the ratings by owners not just the critics. I always look at the reviews that were given by the user cause that is the true test if most people like it then it’s probably a pretty good deal. Also go to a sprint store and play with the phones, get the feel ! This is also a good way to discover what you like. Face if you don’t like the way it feels or looks you’re not going to be happy. You can go to sprint and ask all your questions and let them tell you the differences, they’re really knowledgeable and helpful. I love the Rant and wish I never gave it back but it was too much phone for me I don’t use my phone for the internet or anything like that but it could be perfect for you. Good luck and have fun!
