the moto razr and the krzr are fantastic phones. krzrs are less vital but are more durable…. they do have a glossy end though, so finger prints are very noticable. But both are fantastic phones

Samsung has fantastic phones. I have the Samsung M500. It’s red, it’s a flip phone with camera, video, and music, and it’s web enabled. Fantastic small phone, and so simple to use and steer. It makes me proud to own a cell phone!

A small something I brought back from Japan.

Otousan is a Mascot for the Softbank Cellular Carrier in Japan.

Otousan is a rare white Japanese dog named Shiroi. He has a human wife, a gorgeous daughter who works at a Softbank shop, and a black son who speaks with a foreign accent (American?).

He looks more like a bear in this likeness though.

If you squeeze the plushie, he says an encouraging line in his trademark deep Japanese samurai voice.

Families with teens don’t need data plans for everyone in the family, and teens need keyboards. Do you reckon their lack of quality simple-feature phones is intentional to force you into their data plot? Do you reckon it’s excellent business or terrible business?

I reckon you’re right. It’s to force families to get the $ 10/month data plot. Additionally, it’s to entice the teens to use the internet and to run up overages which will be very, very simple with the 25mb plot. Overages make money for Verizon. Plus, some of those families will opt to switch to the unlimited data plot to avoid overages.

I’m of two minds about whether this is excellent business. While I reckon making your customers mad is terrible business, most of those customers are going to be staying with Verizon because of the coverage. Squeezing more money out of customers is always excellent business and mad customers are not a conundrum if they believe they have no alternative but Verizon.
