Q&A: Cell phone calls in public places. Where do YOU draw the line?
It seems like you can’t go anywhere without someone walking aimlessly about with a cell phone in his/her hand. S/he drives with a conversation going on the phone. Dates interrupted by calls that could truly wait. I’ve seen nurses being questioned to “hold on a sec” and overheard conversations that I really shouldn’t hear, and were wayyy too much information for me! Other countries find this attacking, we are unique in this way. Do you reckon cell phones in public are apt? Everywhere would you draw the line?

I too am fed up with the inconsiderate actions of people abusing the technology. Everywhere I do and have pinched the line is in the restaurants. I been in sections away from the crowd with a date so I can talk with her, only to some jerk plop in the adjoining booth and start yakking away. On more than just a few occasions I have turned around and questioned them to quieten down. Their responses have been everything from ignoring me to wanting to fight.
Simply incredible. They have to post signs in movie theatres, courtrooms and hospitals reminding people to turn the phones off.

I don’t reckon many cell phone users have cell phone etiquette. Most conversations can wait and should. Just because you are in public and bored doesn’t mean you just start calling everyone you know. Keep that at the house.

How would you like to be riding on a bus and 6 people if your lucky are jockeying for a position to see who can be the loudest and none of them are having an intelligent conversation worth a damn, and the new ones that get on the bus are still talking while they are paying their fare at a volume level the same as when they were at the bus stop, figure that one?

I reckon the ‘hey, I am going to be ten minutes late, talk soon’ sort of calls are OK… after all, that is what a mobile phone is really for.
Holding personal conversations (and why do people feel the need to talk so loudly, and look so offended when you look) in public seats, especially when it breaks your communication with another person for a long time, is really rude…
I was having feast in a restaurant with my b/f a while ago, and there was a young lady there, clearly arguing with her partner (doing the whole shouting, crying thing too) at her table, with all her friends sitting round watching her. It was embarrassing for us, her friends, the waiters…
phones should be used, not abused in public

There is an iPod pocket with a flap that will hold your iPod and your headphones. There are also two other pockets large enough to slide your items to the bottom to keep them secure, but simple to reach. Use these pockets to hold your pad, pens, pocket camera, asthma inhaler, cell phone, date book business cards or any other small items you want close at hand. 15-16.

For both; college if you really want a nice relationship.
16 if you want a bumpy one (can still do it…just might not work and this is in most cases. High school isn’t full-potential)

Everyone’s at their own pace, so you only date when you feel ready, or when the time is right. It’s YOUR pronouncement, but don’t pressure yourself.

its the new way of dating because you don’t have to call a party line and press buttons and go on looks based on what that persons tell you and you look like a fool because they didn’t contest up to their description that they told over the phone. Its better because you can see someone’s picture and get to know them a small better by reading their profile before you choose to send them a message. This is my thing though. By your fifth answer to that person you should be ready to exchange facts. Communication makes me feel more comfortable about a person. Do I reckon its safe? I reckon its safe if you meet up in public house everywhere people can see whats going on. Don’t ever meet someone who is worried to show their face picture. For all that you should call the party line. If you have a cell phone text a friend to let them that you are safe. let them know your whereabouts
