How to get out of my cell phone contract?

I have a cell phone contract in Canada that I need to get rid of. How can I get out without paying cancellation fees?

There are many ways:
1- Get a renowned problematic phone, nag 3 times, be let out of a contract due to your local lemon law.
2- Say you want out because the service isn’t up to par.
3- Try promote based solutions such as celltradeusa.com in USA and cellclients.com in Canada

I have a 2 year AT&T/Cingular family plot contract for my cell phone and my mom’s and it’s going to be up this spring, but my birthday is coming up in about 15 days and I wanted one of the new Verizon 2-way flip-phones. I want to know how much it would be to cancel this contract, or if there isn’t any cheap way, any other cool cingular phones BESIDES the crappy razrs. Thanks!
I don’t know everywhere the contract is, my dad has it somewhere. Also, I would never get an iPhone in anticipation of the 2nd generation comes out. The 1st one was a dissapointment.

I only know that with my Sprint contract it was $ 150 to cancel.

you’ll have to check your contract to be sure, but I reckon it’s usually $ 175
