How do I get cell phone service in the mountains if I have a basic verizon phone?

I am going skiing next weekend at snow shoe in west virginia. Each year I go I get know cell phone service and isolated from my friends. It isn’t that terrible I just wish I could talk to them. Is there any tips on how to get better service I have a basic motorola phone with verizon.

*228+send from your cell phone will only be helpful if the ph has 2 bars of signal to start. If it does then choose option #2, if it doesn’t then there’s not really anything else that can be done while you are skiing.

I need a cell phone. I need to find a service that is cheap and works excellent. Possibly free unlimited minutes on weekends? I don’t care which kind of phone, I just need a cheap, excellent-working service. Anyone know of any?

Try a TracFone there is no contracts or outside guys at all so that means no bills all you have to do is buy these cards for your TracFone and but minutes on it. They work all around the world. I have one and it has never failed me yet.
